| ispo Will Give Nordic Walking Special Focus
MAY 03, 2004 -- This is achieved with exhibitors such as adidas, Asics, Buff, Camelbak, Columbia, Concurve, Deproc, Dolomite, Exel, Fischer/Löffler, Fizan, Gabel, Gumotex, Helly Hansen, Hi-Tec, Kamik, Karhu, Komperdell, Leki, Lizard, Lowa, Meindl, Mephisto, Merrell, New Balance, Newline, One Way, Pearl Izumi, Ploner, Polar, Polartec, Profeet, Reebok, Salomon, Sigma, Sorry, Suunto, Swix, Tao, Tecnica, Trespass, Trezeta, W.L. Gore and Ziener. This important subject for retailers is being professionally addressed and carried out by the ispo organizers. Seminars, lectures, panel discussions and training sessions accompany the premiere of the Nordic Fitness Summit in the central market place, complete with stage and bar located in Hall 3. The Nordic Fitness Village in the atrium between Hall B2 and B3 provides trade visitors with a Nordic Walking and Nordic Blading test area besides various product presentations. The course connects running_ispo in Hall B2 with outdoor_ispo in Hall B3, where professional instructors offer introductory courses. The latest Nordic Fitness collections make up a major part of the new Fast Forward Fashion Show, in addition there will also be a Sportswear/Outdoor Fashion Show. On July 4 and 5, the first two fair days, the Nordic Walking Congress takes place at the ICM in cooperation with the German Nordic Walking Association, DNV. The congress is directed at retailers, as well as members of health institutions, health insurance companies, and weight-loss experts, sports organizers and trainers, besides tourism professionals, training course builders and officials of Nordic fitness parks. Together with the organizing committee of the Nordic Ski World Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf, Germany, ispo is hosting the "Nordic Challenge" competition on the second day of the show, Monday, July 5. Amateurs and world champions will compete in Nordic Walking, Trail Running and Nordic Blading. Top athletes such as Evi Sachenbacher, Rene Sommerfeldt, Tobias Angerer, Peter Schlickenrieder, Ronnie Ackermann and Georg Späth will be at the starting line.
