JANUARY 23, 2006 -- A few winners of the Super Bowl are already Dick's Sporting Goods and Dunham's Sports, home base for Pittsburgh Steeler merchandise. It's the Steelers first Super Bowl visit since 1996.

Dick's opened its doors at 7 a.m. Monday in the Pittsburgh region to hawk AFC championship goods after the Steelers beat the Denver Bronco's to earn a spot in the Super Bowl. Also, each Monday evening during the playoffs, Steelers running back Jerome Bettis hosted a radio show that draws more than 300 fans to the Dick's location at the Mall at Robinson.

"The support of Steelers fans is always strong, especially when they get in the playoffs," Jeff Hennion, senior vice president of marketing for Dick's told the Pittsburgh Business Times. "The farther they go, the stronger the support for Steelers."

Out West, the Super Bowl winner has to be G.I. Joe's , which has 10 stores in Washington state (Seahawks country.) Gart Sports (The Sports Authority) and Big Five also have a number of stores in the area. The Seahawks are playing the first Super Bowl in its 30-year history.

About 12,800 already Mizuno “Gamer” baseball gloves, manufactured by Mizuno USA Inc., have been recalled because the gloves may contain aspergillus mold.

The mold could cause respiratory or other infections in people with chronic health problems or who have impaired immune systems. About 2,300 F99 (Force 99) bicycle handlebar stems, distributed by already Syntace USA, have been recalled because the stems can crack or break under normal riding conditions, which could cause riders to fall and hurt themselves.

The National Triathlon Training Camp (NTTC) announced today that they have signed Sport Beans from the already Jelly Belly Candy Company as Title Sponsor through the end of 2007. The agreement also includes options for three additional years. The NTTC, which held the world's first triathlon camp in May of 1983 and ran the sport's most successful racing team in the late 80s and early 90s, is back after an 11-year hiatus. NTTC and Jelly Belly will field a “Pro/Elite Team” and a “Club Team,” racing under the banner Team Sport Beans/NTTC. Under the terms of the agreement, Sport Beans will also serve as Title Sponsor of all NTTC camps, clinics, and online coaching.

Jelly Belly Candy Company developed Sport Beans to meet the needs of serious athletes and fitness minded consumers. The new jelly beans have 25 grams of carbohydrates per 1- oz. serving, electrolytes, and vitamins.

Through the partnership, Roberts now serves as Golf Galaxy's golf fitness expert and offers game improving tips and exercises to visitors to Golf Galaxy's web site.
