Mizuno Recalling Ball Gloves With Possible Mold

JANUARY 19, 2006 -- About 12,800 Mizuno "Gamer" baseball gloves are being recalled in cooperation with the CPSC. These gloves could contain aspergillus mold.

Such mold usually does not affect healthy individuals, but could cause respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems or in individuals who have impaired immune systems. No incidents have been reported. The gloves were manufactured in the Philippines.

The recall includes all Mizuno "Gamer" gloves. These gloves have the word "Gamer" printed on the palm of the gloves. They were sold in sporting goods stores from July '05 through October '05 for about $80.
