Nike Golf Boosts Counterfeit Tracking

JANUARY 13, 2006 -- Nike Golf announced the global launch of TUV Rheinland Group's Brand Protection Service for its golf club lines. The solution provides authenticity verification as well as product track and trace features using an Internet-based system.

TUV was chosen to enhance Nike Golf's ongoing anti-counterfeiting initiatives. TUV's solution addresses multiple aspects of product control, risk management, and brand protection. It provides Nike Golf the unique flexibility to adapt to future changes in counterfeit technology while supporting diverse product applications.

"We looked at a number of suppliers. TUV's platform approach has the advantage of not locking us into any particular marking or tagging technology and it enabled us to tailor the details to match our business," said Mark Sheldon-Allen, director/global supply chain, Nike Golf.

Nike Golf's agreement with TUV Rheinland Group includes a suite of services intended to improve supply and demand control as well as information security throughout its operations worldwide.
