A Modell's/Reebok TV commercial shoot just place. This TV spot marks Modell's return to TV in a number of years. The commercial will begin airing on the YES Network during Yankees games, and Jets and Giants pre-season games, as well as ESPN starting in July. It will run for four weeks after that.
Commercial's concept involves NY Jets quarterback Chad Pennington and NY Giants quarterback Ely Manning playing catch with each other on either side of the Hudson River, one in New Jersey & one in New York. The commercial's message is: No matter what side you're on, Reebok has the gear for you. And you can purchase this Reebok gear at Modell's Sporting Goods. Reebok football footwear, apparel and equipment are highlighted.
Delbert Hayes, a Nike director of the company, notified the company of his decision not to stand for re-election as a director at the 2005 annual meeting. His decision is not the result of any disagreement with the company or its management. Hayes, 69, a director since 1975, served as EVP from 1980 to 1995. Hayes served as treasurer and in a number of other executive positions from 1975 to 1980. He was a partner with Hayes, Nyman & Co., certified public accountants, from 1970 to 1975. Prior to 1970, Hayes was a certified public accountant with Price Waterhouse for eight years.
The Customs Department in Malta seized more than 27,000 counterfeit Nike and Adidas shoes as the ship stopped in Malta on its way from the Far East to Morocco and Algeria.
